The formula of temperature changing silicone based ink refers to the addition of some color-changing materials with particle size less than 10μm in silicone based ink, which can achieve the effect that the color of cured ink changes with the temperature change, such as the temperature 31℃ as the dividing line, the cured ink below 31℃ is rose red, when the temperature is higher than 31℃, it becomes white. In other words, clothes printed with temperature changing ink appear white in hot summer but rose red in autumn and winter. Because of its unique performance, temperature changing ink is sought after by some fashion brands and even some anti-counterfeiting label manufacturers.

 

The formula for the silicone based ink has been described many times in previous articles,its main chemical composition are vinyl silicone oil, hydrogen-containing silicone oil, filler and platinum catalyst, which is cross linked and cure into an elastomer under heating or room temperature. Based on this principle, through the screen printing, the silicone based ink coated on the clothing can penetrate clothing fiber, form a film, print different types of patterns, letters, etc., in short, silicone based ink is a new and environmentally friendly printing material.

 

Color changing materials, mostly fine grained metals (such as Ag,Cu,Zn,Hg), metal halides (such as HgI,Pb2HgI4,Ti2HgI4), polycrystals of metal oxides (such as Fe2O3, PbO,HgO,VO2). Suitable for color-changing pigments are mainly silver, mercury, copper iodide, chromium complex and double salts. The main reasons for the discoloration of the material are: crystal transformation, such as when the temperature reaches 344K, the red CuHgI4 tetragonal crystal becomes a black tetragonal crystal, that is, the color changes due to the change of crystal type. Gain and loss of crystal water, such as at the temperature of 314K, red CoCl2·6H2O becomes sky blue CoCl2 after water loss, that is, the color changes due to water loss.The ligand geometry changes, for example, the color of [(C2H5) 2NH2] 2CuCI4 changes reversibly between green and yellow at a temperature of 316K, which is mainly caused by changes in structure or coordination number.

 

In short, the temperature-changing silicone based ink is a special clothing printing material mixed with liquid silica gel and temperature-changing materials.
