Whats garment screen printing?
Screen printing refers to screen as the plate base, and through the method of photosensitive plate, made with text screen plate. Screen printing consists of five elements, screen plate, squeegee, ink, table and garment. The basic principle that ink from the graphic part of screen plate can pass through but the non-graphic part can't pass. While printing, ink is poured into one end of the screen plate,use squeegee to exert a certain pressure on screen printing plate. At the same time, the ink moves toward the other end at a constant speed, and ink is squeezed by squeegee from the text part of mesh to garment.
How many ways to screen printing garment?
There are two types of screen printing,manual printing and machine printing.
Manual Printing Silicone Ink,it mainly used for common manual screen printing or called hand printing on fabric.
Machine Printing Silicone Ink,it can used for octopus screen printing machine or oval screen printing machine.
Tip:Usually,machine printing silicone ink can be used for manual printing,but manual printing silicone ink could not be used for machine printing,because machine printing silicone ink has longer operation time than manual printing silicone ink.
What silicone ink needed in garment screen printing?
XG-866A HD silicone for manual printing
Best silicone ink for screen printing on cotton,nylon,100%polyester,etc.long work life,add 2% slow dry catalyst XG-866B-1.It's high viscosity silicone.Please adjust the workable viscosity with thinner XG-128AH.
XG-866AH HD silicone for machine printing
Longer printing time.Good smooth for cotton and cotton blended fabrics ,easy for pigments ,easy cure,easy to get high density effect .To print glossy or matte for top coating to get super glossy and matte effect. Or adjust numbers of meshes， to get half matte effect.For under coating high density printing,color layer printing,CMYK printing.Good for both hand and machine printing,if for machine it will be better to mix with 10% thinner.
XG-360Z-3 crossing linker and XG-360ZB crossing linker agent
Under coating for nylon waterproof fabric,crossing linker and crossing linker agent mixture ratio 100:5.
XG-866B-1 slow dry catalyst
Mixture ratio 2%,suitable for machine printing,summer time and hot weather area,working time could be adjusted by operating temperature,catalyst mixing ratio and retarder.want to dry fast use fast dry catalyst.
XG-866B-2 fast dry catalyst
Mixture ratio 2%,suitable for hand printing,winter time and cold weather area,working time could be adjusted by operating temperature,catalyst mixing ratio.
XG-866M series matte effect silicone
Soft smooth matte with good hand feel and elastic for top matte effect coating. No need to mix with pigment ,transparent for matte top coating,dark color print do not become white after pulled .Suitable both for machine and hand printing.
XG-399 series glossy effect silicone
For fabric that printed transparent silicone or silicone color layer for glossy top coating printing.Suitable for machine and hand printing with excellent glossy and faster leveling with no bubble problem.
Thinner
To dilute silicone, reduce the viscosity for easy printing.Thinner is not necessary,less thinner can get better smooth layer and easy to be high density,mixture ratio 10%.
Pigment
Normal pigment made of resin,color powder,agent and component solvent,white pigment and fluorescent pigment mixture ratio 10%-20%,another pigment normally 10%.
How to use silicone ink to print garment?
(1) For cotton,cotton blending fabric
1.Use HD silicone print certain thickness (XG-866A,XG-866AH) and 2% fast dry catalyst.
2.Add 10-20% pigment to HD silicone ink and color print.
3.Bake the surface dry,color print 4 times or more and bake it dry each time.
4.For glossy effect,print 2 times glossy silicone ink and 2% fast dry catalyst.
5.For matte effect,print 1 time matte silicone ink and 2% fast dry catalyst.
(2) For nylon,polyester,water proof fabric
1.Print 2 times XG-360Z-3 crossing linker and 5% linker agent as under coating.
2.Print 4 times HD silicone ink with 2% fast dry catalyst,10% thinner,bake the surface dry with an automatic oven,Temp degree 100.
3.,Print 4 times HD silicone ink,2% fast dry catalyst and 10-20% pigment.
4.For glossy effect,print 2 times glossy silicone ink and 2% fast dry catalyst.
5.For matte effect,print 1 time matte silicone ink and 2% fast dry catalyst.
Notice: The operation instructions for manual printing. For machine printing, use high density silicone ink and slow dry catalyst. For fastness base coating crossing linker XG-360Z-3, it can’t be used on machine printing, so we use XG-136AB for strong fastness base coating instead.
